Carey whacks 'em on Conesus

Livonia, NY, September 14, 2019 - Southern Tier Bassmasters held their fourth and final points tournament of the 2019 season on Conesus lake.

Nineteen anglers set out on a blustery day under cold front conditions and a steady 20 mph wind out of the south, changing later in the day to a more westerly direction. These were definitely difficult fishing conditions. But as usual, someone figures it out.

John Carey put a 5-fish limit in the box weighing 19.23 lbs. John reported that he fished mainly boat docks to catch his fish. His impressive limit was anchored by the 2 largest fish of the tournament a 5.71 lb. and a 4.66 lb. largemouth bass.

Finishing in second place was Brandon Brown with a limit of bass weighing in at 14.78 lbs. His bag was topped with a 3.66 lb. bass.

In third place, with a limit of largemouth weighing 14.36 lbs was Ted Barth. He anchored his limit with a 4.12 lb. largemouth bass.

Brady Schoonover took the fourth spot with his limit of fish weighing 11.48 lbs with his largest bass weighing in at 3.79 lbs.

This event closed out the qualifying for the 2019 Angler of the Year race. It was a 1-point race going into the event and Ted Barth came out on top for his 2nd AOY title with the club.

It was another successful season and congratulations to all the anglers.
